WeeblificationWell this is a new experience! I've done a bit of CSS before on my blog but have never set up a website like this from scratch. The Weebly system is easy to get to learn, though I'm still struggling to set up all the elements I want. That might not be helped yet though by not having a set purpose or content for the website yet, as that would give parameters and some direction. It also looks too much like my blog at the moment; whilst I wanted both sites to have the same feel and identity, this is a little too pigeon-pair. Until I have more material for it though it's hard to change things around much as I've simply very little to change! I think this may also be due to the face that many of the themes are very blog-like, only without the dated publishing functionality.
I have at least added a link to my blog, though it would be cool to incorporate both this website and my blog onto one cohesive site on my hypocaffeinic.com domain. I have pages organised on the blog as you would pages on a website, though the website environment would be hugely more flexible than working within the confines of the blog-based Wordpress system. Ideas for the future, perhaps.. Lest We ForgetA fantastic metaphor, and one which may be complemented by considering that for all the blogging, tweeting, wiki-ing, and sharing we do, uploading even a lifetime of our own information to the internet would be akin to adding a single drop of water to an ocean. Sometimes, whilst scouring databases for some assignment or other, up to my eyeballs in downloaded articles and with myriad open tabs showing myriad uncovered articles, I pause and hold a moment of silence for those university students who undertook their studies before the rise of the internet. Lest we forget. Graduate Certificate in Tertiary EducationThe Graduate Certificate in Tertiary Education is a 6 month full-time award program that aims to develop professional tertiary educators enriched by cross-institutional community of practice.

It aims to enhance students' ability to design, develop, implement and evaluate learning environments that draw on the theory and practice of teaching with technology. Students in this course will explore and evaluate a range of educational media and tools whilst considering contemporary issues in higher education. Particular focus is also placed on enhancing the students' understanding of eLearning, through independent exploration of eLearning approaches and systems, and evaluation of their design and application.
